1) We can get sponsors to help us in the project . The sponsors can be the environmental agencies like National Evitonmental Agency (NEA) in Singapore.
2) Have a recyling competition in the community where paricipants submit a product made of recycled products and auction the masterpieces!
3) Have a "love- the- books" competition and let people donate their books and we can sell them as seond hand items, like a garage sale!
At my school students do the following to raise money for charities:
- Have non-uniform day :-) Students pay a small donation and are allowed to come to school in their regular clothes.
- Sponsored silence! Teachers love this because students spend the whole day being quiet.
- Sponsored Walks - great way to get healthy too
1. Have an exhibition on oil palm plantations and how they are resulting in large scale indiscriminate clearing of forests as a preamble to a food sale to raise funds for NGO
2. Pledge cards for sale, where students can pen down their thoughts about deforestation and how best to address the problem
3. video screenings of nature documentaries, where nominal fees can be charged.

We can inform the school about the situation and ask them to donate. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
To ensure that they would participate actively, the best way is to have games. Maybe we could create a cyber gaming deforestation competition. The objective of this game is to create awareness and show students that they too can play a part
Lastly, we could have a recycling activity. In replace of money, recycled materials can buy food and water, stationary etc.
