In the school each class could make a movie about palm oil and deforestACTION.

We could bring recyclable things to school.
• Milk cartons
• Egg cartons
• Cardboard boxes
• Paper
• Bottles
We can reuse them for projects and other things. We can also put up posters on the streets.

Plant plants then sell them.

We can gather recycled bottles, paper, cardboard, etc and we could have a field trip to the recycling company and raise money for trees

We have been working as a team to come up with the following SMART Goal...

At Dallas Primary School and Kindergarten we will investigate the food products we sell in our canteen and as an extension the food products that students bring to school.

We are looking at the country of origin and what ingredients go into some of the food snacks we are consuming on a daily basis.

As a result we will investigate which products come from ‘safe’ regions and do not use palm oil or use a ‘safe’ version of it.

Our ultimate aim will be to provide every family in the school with a list of ‘safe’ snack products and ensure our canteen has ‘safe’ products available for sale to students.

We could let the students write a letter to the goverment about deforestACTION and the use of plam oil.

We could send them to different levels of government and see how msny reponses we get.

These are some wonderful goals! Will you be doing fundraising as well to help protect forest land?

Crescent Girls' School's Smart Goals

1. Raise awareness of deforestation by firstly determining public awareness and then running some campaigns to publicize deforestation. We will also organize fun roadshows, to help educate them on deforestation.

2. Raise at least $2000 in funds through a carnival, where we will have many interactive booths that will help to raise funds and awareness to help deforestation.

3. Promote food that does not use palm oil. We will identify foods without palm oil, find a low-cost method to obtain foods and have a sale of certain foods which we have been determined to be free of palm oil.

4. Hold an "Amazing Race". We will make questions based on deforestation and hold a competition inside the school, where students will be split up into groups, and will have to answer the questions and race to the finish line. The prize for the winner of the race would be more palm-oil-free food for the winning group.
