1.Used for urban and construction purposes.

Cutting down of trees to obtain building materials and clearing
forests in order to expand urban areas.

2.To grow crops.

Forests are also cut down in order to clear land for growing
crops. eg:- Chena cultivation.

3. TO obtain fuel.

Valuable tees are cut down in developing countries to be used as
firewood or turned into charcoal, which are used for cooking
and heating purposes.

1. For Construction
Usually the space deforested is used for construction projects like building high risers, housing schemes, dams, irrigation canals etc.

2. To obtain Timber
Wood is used as timber for making various wooden products. For an example valuable wood like maple wood are used for making musical instruments. Wood is also used for making furniture and accessories. Trees are cut to produce fire wood as well.

3. For Agriculture
Lots of deforestation happens for agriculture plantation purposes. Tea plantations in Sri Lanka is an example for this.
