Reflect on your experiences of going without technology devices last week.
What was the hardest?
What did you do instead of using technology?
Were you surprised by anything that happened while you were going without your tech?

Technology has become part of our lives. Basing it on the way we live now, we would have much trouble finding out information and just entertaining ourselves in general. My experience without technology for a few days was a little challenging but overall it was easy. Although I was missing being able to facetime and text my friends, at least I didn't lose all my technology like the car and the radio.
Going without technology for two days was honestly not hard at all for me. On our farm we don't even have a Tv because we don't have connection so going with a TV was easy because I do that every day. I do have a phone but I hardly ever use it so that wasn't bad. If I had to pick the hardest not to use I would say my Ipad, and even that wasn't even that hard. I use it for school and play games sometimes but for two days I was fine.
Instead i caught up on AR reading for the most part and just did my usual stuff.
The first thing I noticed about having no technology was I actually got something done. I for once did all my chores. I also freaked out at one time because of having no technology. I was literally reading a house and garden magazine. Having technology really did give me the experience of not being able to use technology for longer periods of time.
Not having technology was hard for me because I'm so used to using my phone and the house computer. I would also finish my homework faster and after that I would read AR.
To be honest going without technology was really hard for me. I thought it would be pretty easy just going a few days without my iPad and phone but it wasn't. A few times when I would want to get on them would be when I was done with sports and homework and didn't have anything to do. Or when I would want to call my friends or text them or play games...also sometimes when I would've needed it when I was done riding at the barn and I needed to call my mom to come and pick me up. Instead of playing games and texting friends I would clean my room and pass the ball with my friends outside and help my trainer clean up and change the jumps for little kids during lessons. I was very surprised by how much more sleep I got and how much earlier I would wake up. I was also surprised by how much we actually use our technology and how addicted we can get to things.
Going without technology for a couple days was pretty difficult, but I got a lot more work done. For example, I read a ton more and got my homework done quicker. Also, I went to bed about an hour earlier than I usually do, because I had nothing else to do. I don't think I would want to do it again, though.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts...
I guess going without tech is going to be more difficult for my students. We are in a high density urban environment...and they need to contact parents, or other people responsible for their transportation...
I will see if I can convince my students to try this next week.

Going without technology for a few days was really hard for me. Every time I would walk into my room I would see my computer sitting there. I had trouble with some communications between family and friends. Although I did gain the sense of the amount of time I spend of technology. All together I thought this was a great experience.
Last week was a big challenge for me. Almost always when I get home from school I get on my ipad or iphone for my homework. Instead on use my tech devices I hung out outside and laid in my eno (a brand on a hammock) and I also read a book . I was really surprised that I got a lot more things done like did my chores, helped my sister and did a lot of other stuff that I would't do with my tech devices, I'm just glad I got them back.

Going without technology was not that hard for me really. The hardest thing about those three days was not looking at technology when your friends and family are practically shoving it in your face. What I did instead of using technology was reading and I got a bunch of AR done. One thing that surprised me during this experiment was how much we actually use technology. And also how unsupportive friends and family can be.
Going without technology for three days has been difficult. The difficult part was trying to remind myself not to pick up my phone and start playing games when I was bored. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be now that after-school activities have started back up.

I think it was good that you were honest about how it was hard for you. I was wondering how you could do homework at all? I think you could say a bit more and add more detail.
You did a good describing what it was like, but you did not tell me what you were doing instead.

I liked the fact that on your post you are specific about the things you talk about. It was not very clear to me how much more sleep you got and why. You could make the text better by explaining why you got more sleep in.
I liked how you stated that you freaked out and stuff, and that you were reading a magazine you wouldn't normally read. It wasn't really clear what you did, other than reading a magazine and doing your chores. If i were you, i would add more information on what you did during the time you had not technology, but over all, well done.
