Daily Technology Use
Reflect on the digital divide--how much do we rely on technology in our daily lives? Think about it...phones, computers, and games are easy enough to identify, but what about things like traffic lights...GPS...hospital systems? What do you think a day without technology and digital equipment would be like?

We rely on technology so much that kids these days can not take their heads up from their phones or laptops to socialize for 10 minutes. Also, kids are playing games and going on instagram, facebook, twitter etc.... Many adults and teenagers, we are using our laptops and phones to much. Most people are saying that it educates us, but in reality it is taking away our time; we could be socializing, working, or even relaxing instead of technology. It is becoming a part of our lives.
We use digital devices everyday, more so than we think. We use our phones and computers, but it goes deeper than that, we DO you traffic lights, we would die without them. Below is my list of digital devices we use everyday.

-computers
-ipads
-apple products in general
-nokia products as well
-projectors
-computers mouses
-lights
-alarms
-sprinkler systems
-air conditioners
-the chairs that old people use(electronic wheelchairs)
-factories
Wow! Now that I think about it we use it a lot! Without technology we would not survive... well...not happily at least... or well! We use phones, traffic lights, cameras, TVs, busses, cars, projectors, games, computers, lights, internet, sprinkler systems, fire alarms, air conditioners, fans, electronic wheel chairs, and USBs! Some people also use medial devices like, a pump, Blood glucose monitor, Blood pressure monitor, and an x-ray.
We rely on technology a lot during our day. It is in our everyday life when talking on the phone. Kids don't want to leave their computers or phones on the table they always have to be on them. A day without technology wouldn't be good, because if you had no technology traffic lights won't work and you would lose communications with friends, family, and work.
i think we use technology every day because we use the lapptop to do homeworke
and we use phones to talk to people every day.
Nowadays we use technology for nearly everything. We use game consoles, TVs, phones, laptops and more for entertainment. We use GPSs, traffic lights, phone maps for driving. We use many machines for healing and curing people. Basically we NEED technology to survive. However, 100 years ago we barely had any technology and people still survived and lived which means that we can survive without any technology.
I think it would be a difficult day because we wouldn't have nothing to do without internet.
If we lost digital use for a day that means that the govermnent or any other structure to the security of a city or community. People would realize that they have nobody stoping them from commiting a crime so people would start robing murdering and many more. All the hospitals with people on life support would lose many lives.

If I didn't have my I pad with me for one day I would be in a lot of trouble. I use my I pad for everything including, working at school, working at home, I even use it to entertain my little sister. So without my i pad, I wouldn't have access to all the information I have now. We also use technology for medical reasons such as heart monitors, electric wheelchairs, ect.

We use technology every day. Technology is known as cell phones and laptops, and this is the year that technology is booming with new products but much of the technology we have today that is used daily are new cars and traffic systems and new technology put in cars to make traveling safer and more convenient. In cars there has been a bluetooth system that you can call and receive calls on. This can prevent wrecks. Many people are against texting and driving and this can also help that cause.
First off, over 47% of all teens have a smartphone or phone of some sort. Teenagers nowadays use their cellphones so much that they will take it everywhere. And when their not using it they are talking about it-constantly.
Another big problem is the teens who are so addicted, they use their phone in the car...even if they are driving. And that can lead to dangerous consequences... We use our phones every day and we can use it the right way too, like using it to dod research, look up the weather and more. We use it a lot in our everyday lives...more than you think so. Life for teens, adults, and kids would be drastically changed if there was no technology and we would be doing the machines work.

I use technology personally mainly in my life for communication. One of my my main resource of technology is my phone and ipod, but that is not the only way people use technology in their daily lives. Some people just use the microwave to heat their food/drink. Others just use technology to sharpen their pencil in a mechanical pencil sharpener. I think technology is used more often than we realize just for the small things that if we didn't have could affect our lives greatly
I do not think that adding more technology to cars like phones is a good idea because it can cause severe injuries or even multiple deaths.

Without technology like a phone communication would be very difficult and slow. Without a cell phone my mother would probably forget me at many places. With phones we can contact our friends and make plans for Friday night or the movies. If there were no phones we would resort to e-mail with which it could take people a while to respond. Letters take forever to send and get back, so by the time you have made plans the day has already passed. Phones are a fast and efficient way to share and spread technology. Without them we could use the internet but it can be faulty. Without technology life would be hard and much more difficult than it is today.
With technology I mostly use it for homework and for communication. Without a phone or computer I would not be able to make plans with my friends. When I do homework I often search the internet for facts and ideas to help me to do the assignment. The main technological devices that I use are

iPad
I also ride in cars and stoplights are most places that you go. Without technology it would be hard to go about our lives as they are now because they are already so influenced by technology.
Sean, I agree about our lives drastically changing without technology, we really would be doing the work that the machines do now.
I think that technology is definitely a huge part of our society. We use technology for work, at home activities, and now we are getting better at school technology. Computers, phones, tablets, cars, buses, trains, planes, tvs, stop lights, etc. are just some of the many things involved with technology. Without technology we would not have as well of a developed society as we have now. Phones, tablets, and computers help us communicate with others faster than mail or having to meet face to face. I think we get simple pleasures from using technology as well, like when we play games on the computer or tablet. Social media is also a big part of many lives. It helps people stay in touch, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Vine, all of these are great for daily technology examples. I believe that technology defines our future as a society.

Every single day, Most of us are near to or even on a piece of technology. Without traffic lights, we would crash into each other with our cars(that are also made of technology) See? I couldn't even say 1 sentence without mentioning technology! Every day we rely on street lights, cars, microwaves, ovens, fridges, and even more things. Most people in our world could not survive without technology.
I agree with using technology for homework and for safe driving. I don't know where I would be without using internet for my homework
In our lives we use technology everyday, for almost anything. If I lost my ipad I would not be able to look up anything off the internet, and most of all I would not be able to communicate as well. Without technology I could not email my teachers or fellow students to ask questions, and get homework. Technology is a big way in which people communicate. In this age we can do almost nothing without technology.

I can't imagine a world without technology. Everyday we use Iphones, Ipads, phones, computers, Ipods, etc.
Before I got a phone I would always have to borrow someone else's phone. My mom would always say to call her when I needed to be picked up when ever she dropped me off somewhere, but I would have no phone to call her with. Or if I went somewhere and got lost or couldn't find anyone, how would I get help? I first got my phone because I was doing many summer camps in different states and without a phone there would be no way to contact my mom accept by letters and if I did send her a letter I would be home before she got it. Just try to imagine a world without technology.
Your examples are really good! If we didn't have traffic lights, imagine how many crashes there would be, and without technology we wouldn't have cars or lights and lots more.
Technology is what we use on an everyday basis, maybe without even knowing we are using it. We use technology for communication, working, entertainment, ect. I wouldn't even be able to do this work without the technology in this computer. If we didn't have technology normal everyday life would be possible, but very different. Technology is a very important part of everyday life.
I agree, kids douse technology a lot. Also,I agree that if we didn't have technology for a day, that day would be disastrous. To rclarck

We use technology everyday on a daily basis, from the minute you wake up to the minute you go to sleep. You are woken up by an alarm clock, then you get in a car, and go to school. Once you are at school we enter a building with computers, and ipads, and many other things then after school you go home which usually also has computers, ipads, phone,and tv's. If we lived in a time period without technology, everything would be different, your early morning wake up calls from your alarm clock would not happen, your car ride to a school would not happen. You wouldn't be able to figure out information! No TV, no iphones, ipads, ipods, our idea of life would be completely different!
You're right that is exactly what we need to be doing and we should be doing other things like learning and growing instead of using electronics for entertainment. Great paragraph!

I really agree with you, without technology no one would know what to do, thats all people use for entertainment. So great job.
I do agree with that it is beyond just the electronics we use in our everyday life. Its also the alarms and traffic light we use etc..
I think it is really cool that we have all that technology to use everyday.
This is so true, if we didn't have electricity everything would be crazy, because secretary cameras wouldn't work and people would start committing crimes and that would be very bad, so we need electricity
Your right we would be different and the world would change drastically.

I completely agree that most of us need technology and that we use it for almost everything.
Reed, I feel the same way about technology. If I didn't have my phone or email I wouldn't be able to connect w/ my friends.
I think we use cars and systems inside the cars more often than phones and computers

Technology exists in most daily activities today. For example I wake up to an electric alarm clock, turn off the lights in my bedroom to go to bed, and use technology for almost everything in between. Taking even one hour in the day without technology would be extremely difficult. It has made a way into our everyday routine.qq
I totally agree with and I was thinking the exact same thing. Really 100 years ago we barely had technology and they still lived and thrived.

Now a days most kids have either a cell phone or a computer. Without this communication would be difficult. Of course their would still be letters, though they take a while to get back. While at parties, kids and teens are paying more attention to their phones and computers than their own friends. We need to put the electronics down and spend time with our friends and family. We need to interfere with people more in person than text or e-mail them.
If I didn't have a phone it would be hard to communicate with my friends and family. I use my phone to text my friends and I some times I have to call my dad about math. Without my phone I would be lost
Agreed Cole, technology is good for communication between parents and friends but it is getting out of control. People are texting and driving, and are so sucked up into social networks that they are unaware of thier surrondings. Texting to keep in touch I think is necessary but social networks are deffinatly unecessary when it keeps you so unaware and you could just say what you want to say in person or from a text.
Without the technology that we use today, that world would be a pile of chaos. Robbery's would happen more often. The death rate would go up by 60%. We wouldn't even being posting stuff about the divide between each other. The life style we would be living would be before the invention of electricity.
I completely agree about doing practically everything with technology. I don't think I have ever gone a week in my life without using more than one or more devices.
