Intervener Activity - Student Questions

Jan 20, 2014 at 10:37 AM by Stephen MacKinnon

I have uploaded a Word document of the student instructions for Intervener Activity. It is in Files - Intervener Activity - Statement of Concern.

Please review it and provide feedback.

The first 4 questions are scaffolded for the student learning.

The last question uses the actual wording from the official Statement of Concern form.

Good questions; we may need to add one on "solutions" — maybe "what is required to address your concerns?".

Great idea Gordon. I added it as question 5 as part of the students background questions leading up to the Statement of Concern.

I agree that it is really important to have the students include potential solutions to resolve their concerns. Some interveners will outright suggest that a project should not be built, under any circumstances, while other interveners may have specific concerns that could be met if the applying company changed its project in some way or provided alternative measures to offset certain activities.
