Description: In this lesson students will explore the work of Edward Burtynsky to gain an understanding of the process of extraction, production and distribution of oil and connect it to manufacturing and consumerism. This lesson links nicely to Tread Lightly lesson Visualizing Footprints and the Imprints Art contest. It will give an opportunity for students in science, chemistry and world geography classes to enter the contest while still maintaining curriculum standards.
