What does our school do to promote a sustainable environment?
Forsyth Country Day is able to implement many strategies to promote a sustainable environment due to the resources accesible. Private schools allow more room for technological advancement, and with that comes advancements in environmentally conscious decisions. By promoting recycling and getting students involved in collection, students are able to have a hands on experience with improving the environment; composting is also very big at Forsyth Country Day. Our partner school could further improve conservation efforts by starting a composting pile, replacing incandescent light bulbs with energy efficient LED bulbs, and setting up recycling bins. Forsyth has been able to implement all of these improvements; however, simply reminding students to reduce their waste and turn off lights when finished with them can greatly reduce energy loss.
