Energy Policies for a Cool Future Stephen MacKinnon

Students discuss energy impacts and create policies for addressing global climate change related to energy use at a “World Climate Change Summit."

Sara **** "a great final lesson in which students can use everything they have learned throughout the unit to submit ideas at a “World Climate Change Summit”

Mock Environmental Summit momahony This is a summative-type activity for a role-playing scenario. It would need to be modified for our grade 10 climate change unit. Summary from the website: At the end of a six-week class or unit on global warming, students role-play representatives from various countries and organizations at an international summit on the Santa Barbara protocol, dealing with global warming. The students prepare by studying the IPCC report on Global Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol, and other information on human impacts on the environment. The course involves several writing assignments, presentations, and lab activities that help the students research their arguments.
